Slate (1909- ) worked as a radio writer from 1935-1942. After serving in World War II, he was program director for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in New York City from 1945-1951, producing a variety of programs on the United States for British audiences. Slate served with CBS Radio from 1951-1963 and was a vice-president with RKO General Broadcasting after 1963.
